Located in the tranquil fishing village of Ketewel on Bali’s south-east coast, where coconut groves meet the Indian Ocean and a traditional way of life prevails, Bayu Gita Residence provides the perfect holiday getaway. Less than 100 metres from the gleaming black sands of Pabean Beach, this stylish, contemporary villa has been designed with an eye for Balinese aesthetics, keen attention to detail, and supreme comfort in mind. Spread over two floors, the villa is encircled in fold-back glass doors that can be flung open to enjoy the fresh sea breeze. Luxurious soft furnishings include richly woven textiles, rustling drapes and silky mosquito nets, while tropical outdoor living comes with an 11-metre swimming pool, patio dining, and garden gazebo with jacuzzi.

The use of natural building materials, from darkly hued latticed timber to creamy sandstone, creates a discernable warmth which, combined with the villa’s relaxed ambiance will make you feel at home from the moment you cross the threshold. With three bedrooms, including an upper-floor master suite with ocean views, Bayu Gita Residence is large enough to offer space and privacy for small groups and families, but is also intimate and secluded enough to be a romantic honeymoon hideaway. The friendly staff team includes an attentive butler, talented chef and a complimentary car and driver on hand for exploring the nearby coast and hinterland. The seaside town of Sanur, the historic arts centre of Ubud, and action-packed Bali Marine Safari Park, are all in easy reach.

Providing a serene beach escape far from the crowds, Bayu Gita Residence can also be rented in conjunction with six-bedroomed, Villa Bayu Gita to accommodate a total of 18 people.

VILLA LAYOUT

Two-storey L-shaped Bayu Gita Residence is set in a rectangular, tropical walled garden featuring an 11-metre pool. On either side of the ground floor entrance hall is a guest bedroom, above which lie the master bedroom and study. The adjoining wing houses an open-plan kitchen/dining area at ground level and a media/lounge room on the upper floor. Across the lawned gardens, facing the dining room is a shady gazebo where a comfortable daybed lies alongside an inviting jacuzzi.

LIVING AND DINING AREAS

Glass folding doors encircle all the living areas at Bayu Gita Residence, creating the option for air-conditioned cool or a semi-outdoor, open-air living experience. Furnished with a table for eight, the dining area incorporates a bar/breakfast counter behind which is a well-equipped kitchen.

The spacious lounge and media room on the upper floor features tall sloping ceilings and whirring fans. A lounge suite is arranged for comfortable viewing of the flat-screen Satellite TV/DVD Player, while surrounding glass doors reveal a pleasant garden vista. Two planters chairs at the far end of the room look out over a bamboo grove and the sea glinting through the trees.

A patio encircles the dining room, with small temple in one corner and a six-seater circular teak table shaded by a vine-covered trellis.

At one end of the garden lies the tiled swimming pool and sun deck topped with four loungers. Terracotta pots brim with vibrantly hued bougainvillea, while golden frangipani and heliconia frame a compact manicured lawn and a large garden gazebo houses a jacuzzi and comfortable daybed scattered with cushions.

 BEDROOMS

- Master suite
The air-conditioned master suite at Bayu Gita Residence has a soaring rattan ceiling above a dreamily draped king-sized bed set on a raised wooden platform. Floor-to-ceiling windows reveal sea views through the trees. Glass doors open onto an adjoining study with long desk facing the sea, and shelves lined with books. A walk-through dressing room leads to a spacious white stone bathroom with rain shower.

- Guest bedrooms 1 & 2
The villa’s two air-conditioned guest bedrooms are on the ground floor. Of a similar size and layout, each is furnished with a queen-sized bed topped with embroidered cushions and one features a small, pebbled courtyard garden. Both have semi-outdoor ensuite bathrooms accented in cream and white stone, with walk-in rain showers.

STAFF

One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by dedicated staff. Bayu Gita’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality.

DINING

Bayu Gita’s chef and cook are at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

The villa offers an extensive suggestion menu of delicious home-style meals featuring Asian and international dishes to cater to all tastes, with an excellent selection of vegetarian and children’s options. The chef is also more than happy to tailor meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements. A stay is not complete without sampling the chef’s pepes ikan (fish steamed in banana leaf), satay ayam (chicken satay on bamboo skewers) or pisang goreng (fried banana) with ice cream.

FAMILIES AT BAYU GITA

The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.

Bayu Gita is a great villa for families with older children. With a choice of pools, Wii, Xbox and well-stocked home cinema, there is plenty to keep them amused. Younger children will also love the villa, although parents will need to be vigilant on the beach as the water is not suitable for swimming.

The team of friendly staff at Bayu Gita will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).

Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasties for tea? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children’s taste buds.
