Villa description

The Pines is one of the newest villas on spectacular, unspoilt Natai Beach in Phang Nga, north of Phuket. Luxuriously private, the villa rests on a secluded beach and has been designed for casual living in natural surroundings by an international team of architects based in London, Milan and Bangkok. The Pines is a rustic yet modern beach house, handcrafted from Burmese teak, Thai ceramics, and granite stone.

The teak wood living room is ideal for socialising and relaxation, with open-plan spaces, comfortable seating and modern appliances. Walls of sliding glass open the structure completely, transforming the living room and pool veranda into a single space overlooking an endless beach, the emerald sea, and unforgettable sunsets. Outdoor living is encouraged at The Pines. Attentive staff will happily serve you beverages and snacks at the pool veranda and the beachside sala. In addition, a fully equipped gym, home theatre and five comfortable bedrooms beckon you indoors.

The journey to The Pines passes through fishing villages and farms where local communities live a simple life. As you reach your destination, a small bridge and walkway flanked by a lily pond welcome you into this tropical paradise, where you’re greeted by warm staff and stunning sea views.

Elegant and earthy, with extensive use of Burmese teak wood, each of the villa’s five pavilions feature lofty roofs and sliding glass doors that can be pulled back for open-air living. The rooms are well-spaced out and private, connected via a winding pool deck.

Which brings us to one of the highlights of the villa, a refreshing 20-metre lap pool, right in front of the beach. Picture yourself sipping a cocktail in the pool or at the outdoor sala, as the sun sets over the vast sea. Marvel at the colours in the sky, while your villa attendants and chef busy themselves crafting memorable dining experiences for you each night.

Barefoot living is pure indulgence, though you may take it for granted at The Pines. An idyllic setting for groups of families, it has plenty to keep everyone occupied, including an entertainment room, gym, outdoor living spaces and an abundance of sun loungers strewn around the expansive poolside terrace.

Allow yourself to wind down and take advantage of lazy days spent in the sunshine, the pool and the sea, while evenings bring the stars out across the dark, clear sky.

The semi-rural coastline is best explored on bicycles, passing villages, local stalls and the unfiltered Thai countryside. And with a beach club and delicious dining destinations close by, you may even be tempted to stop for a chilled glass of wine on your way back. We won’t blame you. You’re on holiday, after all.

VILLA LAYOUT

To the left of the main living room is the Master Suite, with Guest Bedroom 5 behind it. On the right of the living room, you will find Guest Bedrooms 2 and 3. The gym, entertainment room and Guest Bedroom 4 are located behind it.

The open-plan living room has a modern kitchen on the left, with a large breakfast bar, and an elegant living room on the right. Meanwhile, a long dining table takes centre stage, all with views of the Andaman Sea beyond the 20-metre pool.

The beachfront pool deck is dotted with eight sun loungers, a dining table that seats eight guests, and a shaded sala with two sun loungers.

LIVING AREAS

Indoor Living

Invariably the social hub of the house, the living pavilion is an elegant, open-plan lounge featuring wooden high vaulted ceilings and tall sliding glass doors on all sides, maximising on views of the sea and pool. Though you may choose to languish in air-conditioned comfort, the breezy room is ideal for indoor-outdoor living, in true island holiday spirit.

The room has comfortable sofa seating on one side, and an open kitchen on the other with a long breakfast bar lined with stools. The centrepiece of the room is a marvellous wooden dining table with 10 chairs.

Stepping away from the main living hub, a gym offers the chance to work out and adjoins an air-conditioned entertainment room. Designed to offer respite from the sun, it is furnished with bean bags and has a 70-inch Smart TV, karaoke set-up and a surround speaker system for your enjoyment.

Opposite this pavilion, tucked away next to Guest Bedroom 5, is a fully-equipped guest kitchen, with all modern equipment, although most guests prefer to leave the cooking to the chef and use the kitchen in the main living area for light snacks or cocktails.

Outdoor Living

The Pines has a sizable outdoor deck with plenty of sun loungers for sunbathing, reading under the shade, enjoying the spectacular sunset, and dining under the stars. The spacious terrace spans the front of the villa and runs across the Master Suite, the indoor living pavilion through to Guest Bedrooms 2 and 3, and verges the 20-metre lap pool.

Enjoy alfresco meals at the outdoor dining table for eight, next to the pool under a canvas shade. A sala at one end of the deck is the perfect place to get a massage with views of the sea, or for a quiet moment.

The villa’s pool spills onto the beach, with tall palms providing shade and a grassy garden for kicking a ball around.

BEDROOMS

The front two guest bedroom pavilions at The Pines enjoy unobstructed sea views and have sun loungers directly outside the room, covered with Bimini shades. The other bedrooms, all showcasing Burmese teak wood on their floors, walls and lofty ceilings with wooden fans, are located in the remaining pavilions. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors open up to either the main terrace or the walkway and offer views of the pool, sea or the tropical garden.

Master Suites 1

The generous master suite has a beautiful view of the sea and pool. Stylishly furnished with a king-size four-poster bed, it has an ensuite bathroom with a lavish standalone tub, walk-in dressing area, and a private living area with sofas and chairs.

Guest Bedrooms 2 & 3

Situated opposite the master suite, and within their own pavilion, two sea view guest rooms offer twin beds convertible into king, a desk, closet area and bathrooms with double vanities and a rain shower.

Guest Bedroom 4

Right behind Guest Bedrooms 2 and 3, you will find this partial sea view room, near the gym and entertainment room. Great for young adults, or those young at heart, it is furnished with twin beds that can convert into king, a desk and closet area. The ensuite bathroom has a lovely rain shower.

Guest Bedroom 5

For those who like midnight snacks, this guest room is located next to the main kitchen, in a separate pavilion behind the master suite. Offering partial sea views, the room has a comfortable king-size bed, a desk and a closet area. Like the others, the ensuite bathroom also has a rain shower.

DINING

How amazing is the thought of a villa holiday where you don’t have to worry about cooking, grocery shopping or washing the dishes? Your private chef at The Pines will happily prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for your group. Mid-afternoon snacks can also be easily arranged.

The extensive suggestion menu offers a variety of authentic Thai dishes to choose from, as well as a good selection of western dishes, including healthy salads and comfort food. Expertly arranged, the menu is split into Thai, western, vegetarian, vegan, kids’ and gluten-free sections. There really is something for everyone and dishes can be adapted to suit your preferences.

Besides Thai favourites, we highly recommend the Greek Salad from the western menu. Be prepared to share though, the portions are big. The Pomelo Salad with Prawns is also delicious, and your kids will love the Spaghetti Carbonara. A poolside barbecue can be arranged on request (extra charge). Be sure to order the Catch of the Day, you are merely a few metres away from the Natai Beach Jetty where fishermen go out in the early hours of the morning to catch fish. The additional selection of lobsters, prawns, squid, clamshells and crabs will keep seafood lovers happy.

Thai people are very conscientious about the younger members of your group, and will be happy to serve kids first, to adhere to sleep times.

The villa team takes care of all the grocery shopping which is charged at market price plus a 20% handling fee and a government tax. You are encouraged to plan your meals with the Villa Manager and the chef, preferably a day in advance. The villa team will keep all receipts for reference when settling bills.

FAMILIES

The Pines is an ideal vacation home for families, with five spacious bedrooms, four of which can be configured into twins. Young and old alike will love the entertainment room, where you can watch movies on a 70-inch Smart TV with surround sound in air-conditioned comfort. There’s also plenty of outdoor fun to be had, with a large swimming pool for your sole use, and the beach just a few steps away.

The friendly staff team is always around to assist with activities, allowing parents to relax and enjoy some me-time. Full or part-time babysitters can be organised at an extra cost.

Those with toddlers may like to keep a watchful eye around the pool area. With easy access to the sea and beach, kids should always be supervised.

A fully equipped kitchen allows parents to cater to children at any time, although the chef is more than happy to oblige. There’s no need to bring along any children’s equipment, the villa provides baby cots and highchairs, but if you need anything extra just inform us and we can rent it for you in advance (for a hire fee).

GYM

The perfect way to offset the amount of indulgent relaxation and delicious food whilst staying The Pines, is to workout in your own private, purpose-built gym.

Open up the doors from the adjoining Entertainment Room and enjoy your favourite music playing on the sound system as you run on the treadmill. The gym is well-equipped with new cardiovascular gear including a multigym weight system, a treadmill, and a FitLux Air Bike with cross trainer handles to ensure a full body workout.

‘Tough Man’ free weights are available to use on the adjustable bench, to keep those biceps pumped up, and an Everlast punching bag is great for boxing practice or to burn those calories off rapidly. For those who prefer to take their time to ease into the day, there is a yoga mat available. Take it out to the outdoor sala for early morning surya namaskar (sun salutations) and start the day right.

WEDDINGS & EVENTS

The Pines is set on a pristine beach, resplendent with soft sand and tall palm trees. This wonderfully peaceful setting is ideal for celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, vow renewals and pre-wedding photoshoots.

With its classy wooden finish and breathtaking sea views, the stylish villa also lends itself well to corporate events and wellness retreats.

Accommodating up to 80 guests for a stand-up cocktail soiree, the spacious open plan living area doubles up as a party pavilion and the breakfast island converts into a bar. Drinks can be served here, while there is ample space on the beachfront lawn for guests to spread out. Alternatively, a formal, sit-down dinner for up to 60 guests can be arranged under the shade of the trees and around the pool.

A heightened stage over the pool or next to the beach would make the perfect podium for you to say your vows, as guests positioned on either side take in the sight of the gorgeous couple. All this against the backdrop of the turquoise Andaman Sea and the enchanting villa beautifully lit up.

Proposals, birthdays and anniversaries can be made memorable at The Pines, with a little help from the Elite Concierge and our event partners. A surprise getaway with friends for a milestone occasion would suit this villa very well, as the space is very social and laid back, offering privacy to all its guests along with several common areas for socialising.

We will be happy to recommend the best event organisers, florists, decorators and caterers on the island, to guarantee your celebration is memorable and one-of-its-kind.

Around the villa

The Pines is situated on the unspoiled sands of Natai Beach and boasts a significant 50-60 metres of beachfront with no immediate neighbours. This gives it a sense of complete privacy and seclusion, rare to find in Phuket. The 25-minute journey from the airport to the villa crosses the bridge that connects the mainland to the island. The route passes through charming palm-fringed local villages, offering you a glimpse of the traditional way of life.

A stroll along the beachfront brings you to the jetty. Head here early in the morning to view local fishermen in action. Atleenta Resort and Iniala Beach House are both close by and offer alternative dining options, if you wish for a change of scenery.
