Villa description

Even the most seasoned traveller will be dazzled and delighted by the breathtaking ocean vistas offered by this luxury two story, four bedroom designer villa located in Manggis, near the stunning beachside village of Candidasa, on Bali’s east coast.

The villa enhances and embraces its magnificent cliff top location with sweeping 180 degree views towards the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan and as far off as Lombok. Architecturally designed and lovingly decorated by the owners with a mixture of antiques and contemporary furniture Villa Asada provides a sumptuous and stylish retreat, perfect for friends and families.

Villas Asada was designed by the world-renowned Balinese born architect, Popo Danes, and is a truly beautiful and classic example of contemporary Indonesian architecture. This spectacular two story villa, with panoramic views over the sparkling waters of Amuk Bay, provides guests with wonderful spaces for both indoor and outdoor living.

Enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit at sunrise while watching the mist rise up off the Indian ocean. A refreshing iced lemon tea, to be enjoyed on the colonial-style chairs on the top balcony with views over swaying palm trees is the perfect midday pick-me-up. Or have your evening meal poolside, with the stars above, while candles throw their gentle light over this quintessentially tropical scene.

Gather together and spend lazy days around the pool – chose between a deck chair under a shady umbrella or sinking back into a beanbag. As the sun goes down, raise your glasses and enjoy a cocktail at the bar or relax on the luxurious outdoor lounge setting.

Need to rejuvenate? Indulge in a massage in the outdoor balé or on your private balcony. Or retreat to the air conditioned entertainment room and read a book or watch a DVD.

If you’re feeling active, there’s always a work out in the private gym or a spot of table tennis. Snorkeling is at your doorstep and the staff can arrange all the gear you need.

The friendly and helpful staff at Villa Asada can also arrange anything from Balinese cooking and dance lessons, private yoga, cleansing ceremonies or even classes on how to make Balinese offerings.

Villa Asada, located in a traditional seaside village and away from the hubbub of the city, is a place where you can truly experience the magical essence of Bali, from its magnificent natural coastal setting to its warm, friendly and welcoming people.

LIVING, DINING AND KITCHEN

Even in villa-rich Bali, it’s rare to have an indoor area with such a delightful sense of space, light and airiness. The glass doors that surround the upstairs living area ensure that guests don’t miss out on the spectacular views or the tropical location. The upstairs includes an open plan lounge with a couch that seats 8 and a dining area with a 5 metre table made from teak wood sourced from an old bridge that seats ten. A small balcony at the back overlooks the carp pond with the ever present gentle sound of flowing water from outdoor fountain below.

The gourmet kitchen is divided into two halves giving the option for the chef to interact with the guests or retreat to a private cooking area. The bar that seats four at the kitchen bench makes a lovely spot for a quick coffee or snack.

- Entertainment Room
The entertainment room downstairs comes packed with games, books and dvds. This space can be closed for complete air conditioned comfort or the doors can be opened onto the poolside deck or the back which overlooks a calm carp pond dotted with terracotta fountain features.

- Pool, Garden and Bale
The pool area and its surrounds forms the focal point at Villa Asada. There are comfortable deck chairs shaded by umbrellas on which to lounge and read a book or simply nod off after a delicious meal.

The balé, located in the garden and overlooking the ocean, is a perfect spot to escape the midday sun and watch the light shimmer on the ocean. As the sun sets, the poolside bar is the obvious place to head; either grab a stool or claim your spot on one of the comfortable outdoor sofas.

Once the sun has disappeared and the warm Balinese breezes drift off the ocean then wander over to the enormous outdoor poolside dining table for ten which can be decorated with candles to set the mood for a Balinese feast. If you want to be closer to the kitchen, meals can be served on the table for eight on the upstairs balcony where the only thing interrupting your view will be the tops of the swaying palm trees.

ACCOMMODATION

Villa Asada’s clever design, two-story pavilions forming an L shape around the magnificent swimming pool and perfectly manicured garden area, ensures that all rooms enjoy the spectacular ocean views.

Upstairs you will find the indoor lounge, dining and kitchen area, the balcony with outdoor dining and the enormous first master bedroom with private balcony, while downstairs boasts the second master bedroom, two additional bedrooms, the entertainment room, outdoor dining and lounge area and covered bar.

BEDROOMS

- Master Bedroom 1 - upstairs
Entered via an enclosed walkway this large, light and airy master bedroom with awe-inspiring ocean views features a sumptuous canopied four poster bed and a balcony with outdoor seating making this a delightfully private and tranquil sanctuary, the perfect place to contemplate the world whilst gazing at the crystal waters below. It features a writing desk, coffee table, indoor seating, satellite television and DVD. The ensuite is unrivalled in its space and luxury featuring double sinks, rainshower, dressing area and an oversized bathtub.

- Master Bedroom 2 - downstairs
The sun kissed downstairs master bedroom features a canopied four poster bed, floor to ceiling glass doors which can be opened to allow a lovely sense of indoor and outdoor living. One side opens to a covered balcony that leads directly to the pristine green lawn whilst the other side opens directly to the swimming pool. The enormous ensuite also features double sinks, rainshower, dressing area and an oversized bathtub.

- Bedroom 3 & 4
Bedroom 3 and 4, each of which overlook the sparkling waters of the swimming pool, the garden and beyond towards the ocean, are located on either side of the entertainment room. Bedroom 3 boasts a king size bed with private ensuite with a rainshower and bathtub while bedroom 4 features two single beds with ensuite and a door which opens to the entertainment room making this ideal for the kids.

STAFF

Villa Asada boasts a dedicated team of staff (their positions and responsibilities outlined below) to service guests in the villa.

- Full-time Manager
In charge of overall villa operations and staffing. Villa Manager is on call to meet individual expectations and preferences.

- Two Cooks
In charge of the market shopping and preparation of guest meals. They are highly proficient in cooking a wide selection of Indonesian and international meals.

- Three Villa Attendants
They are responsible for housekeeping, laundry and helping in the kitchen at mealtimes. They are on-hand to cater to guests’ needs throughout the day.

- Two Pool Attendants and Gardeners
Work discreetly in maintaining the landscape and the pool without disturbing the guests.

- One Security Guards
The property’s security is maintained 24 hours a day with three guards on rotating shifts.

DINING

You are most welcome to take advantage of Villa Asada’s fully-equipped kitchen but bearing in mind that cooking is not something you may want to do every day – or even at all – while on holiday, we invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy some delicious meals prepared by your private chef and the kitchen team.

Dishes can be either selected from the villa’s suggestion menu or specially requested according to your group’s wishes.

We highly recommend you try “ayam betutu chef Nopri style”, featuring Nopri’s take on the traditional duck dish, or ulam segara, which is a whole grilled whole snapper. Villa Asada has a barbeque on site so a seafood grill comes highly recommend, taking advantage of fresher than fresh local catches of the day.

The kitchen staff are excellent, but we’re sure you will appreciate that they do not have the capacity of a hotel or restaurant, so meals are generally served ‘family style’, where everyone shares dishes, as opposed to ordering individually.

Food intolerances, special diets and children’s meals can all be catered for.

- The system
To allow the kitchen time to shop and prepare, it’s necessary to order in advance – either the evening before (for special requests) or at breakfast time each day. Grocery shopping will be done by the staff at local markets, supermarkets and delis, and you are welcome to accompany them for a unique Asia market-shopping experience.

Villa Asada operates its food and beverage service on a cash basis. Staff will request a cash float/deposit when you arrive to cover all your in-villa food and drinks, and ask for top-ups every few days, or when necessary.

All food and beverage provisions are charged at cost plus a 20%++ surcharge to cover transport and stock ingredients. Receipts will be kept and presented either on a daily or end-of-stay basis, whichever you prefer.

SPA

Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask their staff to bring the spa to you! They can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of your own villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply).

CHILDREN AT VILLA ASADA

The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.

Though Villa Asada is a great villa for families toddlers will need to be carefully supervised around the fish ponds and water features. Kids will love the lawn– perfect for a game of tag or football and there are some lovely wooden animal statues that the gardener arranges in different spots every day! If it happens to be a rainy day don’t despair as the villa is well equipped with children’s DVDs and games and the entertainment room provides plenty of space for kids to play.

Don’t worry about packing all that cumbersome kids’ equipment for your stay. Just let Villa Asada know what you need, and anything they don’t have in-house (villa facilities include a baby cot and highchair) can be hired on your behalf.

WEDDINGS & EVENTS

Special events, for up to 80 people, can be held at Villa Asada. However, formal permission from the villa owner or agent and, in many cases, the village banjar (local authority) must be obtained before an event can be confirmed, and special event charges, terms and conditions will usually apply. It is therefore expected that any arrangements for events would be agreed at the time of booking the villa (note that occupancy over one and a half times the villa’s normal capacity constitutes an ‘event’), which will also allow time for the appointment of an event manager to coordinate caterers, music, entertainment, car parking, etc.

If you would like to hold a small party, barbecue or special dinner at the villa, please discuss your requirements with your villa manager, giving as much notice as possible. Please check with us for all costs and conditions.

Around the villa

Villa Asada is located 200 metres from the main road in a rural coastal area, so the services of the villa’s car and driver are essential. Prestigious neighbours within two kilometres include two of the best resorts in Bali – Amankila and Alila Manggis. A short drive will bring you to the small seaside town of Candidasa (5km), and the 700-year-old walled village of Tenganan (7km) – a stronghold of native traditions. There are plenty of eateries in Candidasa, ranging from restaurants serving Western cuisine to warung-style cafes serving local dishes and seafood galore. The best beaches in the locality are Pasir Putih (10km), a white-sand crescent-shaped beach bordered by coconut groves, and Pantai Kecil near the picturesque village and ferry port of Padang Bai.
