We had a truly wonderful family holiday at Taru Villa Mawella. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.A special thank you to the manager, Pramodya Herath, who was absolutely exceptional so professional, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay unforgettable.The hotel itself is a real haven of peace, a little paradise where you instantly feel relaxed. The atmosphere is calm, beautiful, and welcoming. The location is also ideal, just about 15 minutes from amazing surf beaches and great spots to explore.We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend quality time with our family. Highly recommended we will definitely come back!

Great location right on a beautiful and clean beach and only 15 minutes to Hiriketiya by tuktuk. Great breakfast each morning.We stayed in the 2 bedroom pool house which we found strange wasn't private but open to other guests.The pool house itself was looking tired, definitely in need of a revamp and hot water in the shower was an issue at times (and I am not the 1st guest to mention this).The staff while helpful and friendly, lacked some initiative and training, as an example, if you ever wanted room service or to get a drink while on the sunbeds it was hard to find staff and the phone in the room didn't work if you ever needed to call the manager.There are some restaurants in Hiriketiya that do amazing modern Sri Lankan food (Raa, The Ruin) but the dinner menu at Taru Villas is very westernised and expensive compared to what is around and to be honest not very interesting (apart from the Sri Lanka concept dinner which is the same every night).Great location but really not a great hotel.

This is truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in - myself, husband and baby boy ( 1 year old) stayed for 5 days for a part of our honeymoon and it was just brilliant. The location and hotel buildings/ settings are brilliant , the food is AMAZING ( they change the menu most nights and every day it was fantastic), and the entire staff group were so nice. We didn’t want to leave - you must stay here if visiting the Tangalle or surrounding areas

Great location and view. Beautiful design. We stayed at the Korumba house for 4 nights. The house has a kitchen and 2 rooms. We only used 1 room. Both rooms have a double bed. The open area between the rooms is very nicely done. The place is almost luxury but not entirely, for improvement I suggest to replace the beds to be bigger and with more comfy mattresses. I suggest to install a modern water heater system for the bathroom as the existing one is just a small tank, to train all staff and not just a few to be professional even though they are all nice and friendly. Staff were appearing suddenly in front of the villa so we suggest you add a bell to announce their arrival and repeat the privacy of the guests. We had an issue with our missing luggage at airport . We were not happy with the way staff tried to help us at all and the issue was not addressed neither rectified hence my comments on the need to train staff to go extra miles honestly and genuinely to want to make the guest experience beautiful. But of course I still recommend the place because I believe it all depends on your experience and it’s different for each one. Thanks to the team who did their best

Lahiru helped my husband organise a surprise for my birthday, and when I fell ill, the team supported us with genuine care.If you’re looking for real relaxation, this is the perfect place. It’s set on a quiet, long, stunning stretch of oceanfront. There isn’t much around, but that’s exactly what makes it such a special and peaceful destination.Highly recommended for anyone seeking calm, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality.
