Sira Beach House

Sira Beach House is an idyllic beachfront villa in Lombok set on six acres of beautiful coconut groves bordering the white sands and crystal clear waters of the Sira Peninsula on the island’s north west coast. Handsome, traditionally crafted pavilions, including six delightful ensuite bedrooms, provide space and luxury for families and groups of friends looking for a perfect tropical island escape. With an 18-metre private pool and tennis court, elegant dining and living space and a welcoming staff to tend to every need, an unforgettable holiday is guaranteed.

Anticipation builds as you travel the winding road along Lombok’s north-west coast, through tiny villages and past quiet beaches lapped by the bluest of seas. Bali’s mountains rise up from the horizon and the gorgeous Gili Islands lie just off shore.

Six acres of lawn and coconut palms provide complete peace and privacy at Sira Beach House, blurring the distinction between beach and garden. Water lilies float on a reflection pond bordered by cool walkways that connect the living and dining pavilions. These lovely open-sided rooms boast vaulted thatched roofs supported by stout stone columns. A charming dining balé with Moroccan-style seating ‘floats’ on the lily pond and a comfortable media room with a projector screen sets the scene for movie nights.

Six secluded bedrooms are arranged in pairs throughout the grounds; two in the garden pavilion, two in the beach pavilion, plus a master suite and neighbouring twin room set close to the beach. All bedrooms have stunning views from their timber terraces or pretty courtyards and large bathrooms that include garden showers for that open-air, tropical bathing experience.

With its shallow beach, calm sea and acres of play space, Sira Beach House is exceptionally well suited for families. Apart from the 18-metre pool, there’s a private tennis court and croquet pitch, kayak, paddleboards, a good range of children’s equipment, toys and games and a fantastically friendly team of staff who love nothing better than a game of football at the end of the afternoon. Among them is also an excellent chef who prepares a delicious range of local and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The villa’s large, well-equipped kitchen can also be used for cookery classes.

And there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy beyond the villa either. A car and driver is available to take guests sightseeing around this beautiful corner of Lombok; snorkelling and diving adventures can be had around the Gili Islands, and the championship Kosaido Lombok Golf Course is almost next door.

VILLA LAYOUT

Sira Beach House exudes space, with nine thatched pavilions scattered among six acres of beachfront coconut groves. Through the villa’s private entrance gate is a large parking area, beyond which lie the living and dining pavilions, the chill-out room and the garden pavilion bedrooms. To the left of the entrance is the tennis court, in front of which are the beach pavilion bedrooms.

Paths through the coconut grove lead to the master bedroom suite and accompanying twin bedroom suite and, almost at the sea’s edge, is the 18-metre pool with its deck, relaxation balé and shower room.

LIVING AREAS

The open-sided, thatch-roofed pavilions at Sira Beach House offer a delightful indoor—outdoor living experience that sets the scene for a blissful beachside holiday.

The elegant furnishings in the sitting room are of rattan, wood and locally crafted textiles that perfectly complement their natural surroundings. Hanging from the vaulted ceiling are magnificent custom-made pendant lights that give a nod to one of Lombok’s most famous crafts – basketware. Discreet lighting hidden at the base of the sloped ceiling creates a magical effect as night falls. Glass lanterns and ancient tribal artefacts inject atmosphere and a sense of place.

In a stand-alone pavilion close to the villa entrance is the ‘chill-out’ media room complete with comfy seating, satellite TV, DVD player and projector screen. This room can be opened to the tropical sea breeze for daytime relaxation or cooled down with air-conditioning for a fun movie night.

Floating in the middle of the lily pond is the rustic thatched dining balé. With its Moroccan-style low-level seating this makes a cosy spot for kids and adult alike.

The impressive dining pavilion matches the sitting room in grandeur, and is furnished with a massive wooden table for 14 diners. A bright yellow wall of tribal masks add to the atmosphere in this grand dining hall where the villa chef presents his delicious fare.

Next to the 18-metre swimming pool, which is flanked by a broad timber deck furnished with sun loungers beneath shade-giving parasols, is the delightful pool balé. With the beach just a stone’s throw away, and built-in sofas to sink into while you enjoy a board game, or perhaps a sunset cocktail, this is a lovely peaceful spot. Adjoining the balé is a shower room and loo, so you really can relax here all day without having to move far at all.

BEDROOMS

All six charming bedrooms at Sira Beach House are designed in traditional Sasak style, and feature river-rock exterior walls, sliding bamboo screens, timber floors and high, thatched ceilings. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, air conditioning, mosquito nets, safety deposit boxes and hairdryers. Timber decks, furnished with teak planter chairs, look out over the palm groves and beach.

MASTER BEDROOM
Set almost on the sands of Sira Beach, the villa’s master bedroom has beautiful views across the Lombok Straits. These views can be enjoyed right from the king-size four-poster bed or from the terrace. The master suite has a small library area to one side, which can be set up with a child’s cot or single bed. To the other side of the room is a walk-in dressing room and a large ensuite bathroom with a freestanding stone tub, twin basins and a romantic outdoor shower.

TWIN BEDROOM
Next to the master suite, creating an ideal family enclave, is a twin bedroom furnished with two large four-poster beds fashioned from bamboo. Screens slide back on two sides of this room to reveal the garden views and a private deck. The ensuite bathroom features a walk-in closet and has both outdoor and indoor areas.

GARDEN PAVILION BEDROOMS
These two bedrooms are situated close to the living pavilion overlooking the coconut grove to the side of the villa. Accessed via a private courtyard garden, both rooms feature sitting areas furnished with sofas that can be converted to single beds. These bright king-bedded rooms are adorned with vibrant textiles and carved antique chests. The ensuite bathrooms are fitted with freestanding stone tubs and outdoor showers.

BEACH PAVILION BEDROOMS
Screens at the front of the two beach pavilion bedrooms open onto a wide timber deck with fabulous views through the coconut palms to the beach. King-size bamboo beds form the rooms’ centrepieces and elegant rattan daybeds encourage time with a good book, cooled by the sea breeze. Antique kimonos and Indonesian textiles decorate the walls. In the bathrooms are freestanding stone tubs and built in dressing tables, as well as indoor/outdoor showers that open to a private garden area.

STAFF

Guests at Sira Beach House are looked after by a large team of friendly staff who are professionally trained to provide exceptional hospitality. Your villa manager will be your main point of contact but every member of the team will be doing their utmost to ensure that you have an unforgettable holiday.

Villa Manager
The experienced manager at Sira Beach House is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. His job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay.

Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef prepares a mouthwatering range of local, international, vegetarian and children’s dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Butlers
Professionally trained butlers are on hand to attend to guests’ every need, including serving food and beverages at mealtimes, snacks, afternoon tea, cocktails and drinks throughout the day and evening.

Housekeepers
Housekeepers look after daily housekeeping and domestic duties.

Gardeners
A small team of gardeners maintain Sira Beach House's immaculate gardens and swimming pool.

Security Guards
A rotating team of security guards are on-duty 24 hours a day to ensure the safety and security of villa guests.

DINING

The villa's chef is at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch and dinner from locally sourced ingredients that showcase traditional Lombok and Indonesian cuisine, including a delicious selection of fresh seafood, tropical fruits and vegetables. The chef will do his best to meet any special requests and cater to dietary needs.

Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus 20%++ handling fee. Guests will be requested to provide cash for groceries in advance and the staff will keep receipts for reference. As the villa is a little way from the nearest shops (especially those selling Western food), it’s advisable to plan meals well in advance.

FAMILIES

Sira Beach House was designed with families in mind and is exceptionally well equipped for children of all ages. The freedom to set your own schedule and know that the villa grounds are at your sole disposal is one of the great advantages of a private villa holiday.

The amazing choice of activities at Sira Beach House provides something for everyone. Pool toys, board games, kid’s DVDs and the warm shallow water and soft sands of Sira beach will keep little ones amused. The private tennis court, croquet pitch, kayak, paddleboards, football and table tennis ensure that the teens are happy, and the pool, media room, in-villa spa treatments and neighbouring golf course should keep the adults out of trouble.

The chef and kitchen team are happy to prepare special requests for fussy eaters and many members of the villa staff like nothing more than joining the kids for a kick-about with a football or a game of croquet.

The villa has high chairs, baby cots, kid’s cutlery and crockery, a play pen and play mat, and much more besides, so you don’t need to worry about taking up precious luggage space. Anything we don’t have on site we should be able to hire on you behalf if you give some advance notice.

Beyond the villa, snorkelling and diving opportunities lie just off shore at the Gili Islands, and a car and driver is on hand to help you explore the natural and cultural delights of Lombok.

SPA

Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask the staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of Sira Beach House – perhaps at the poolside balé or on the beach – by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply).

WEDDINGS & EVENTS

Six acres of beautiful coconut grove bordering the deserted white sands of Sira Beach make Sira Beach House a dream wedding and event venue. Make your vows with the sand between your toes, enjoy a wedding breakfast in the shade of the coconut palms and then dance the night away under the stars as the villa and grounds are magically illuminated by candlelight. We can recommend expert event organisers, florists, decorators and caterers so you can focus on relaxing and celebrating with your guests.
