Villa Sepoi Sepoi

Villa Sepoi Sepoi, whose name means 'Sea Breeze' in Bahasa, is situated on Sire Beach, on the north- western coast of the beautiful island of Lombok. It is an exclusive hideaway villa designed by the well- known British architect, Jane Taylor. The villa is equally suited to an extended family holiday, a gathering of friends or a special celebration venue (events for up to 100 people can be accommodated).

Sire Beach is a ribbon of virgin white sand next to coconut plantations and a quiet village where local life continues in much the same way as it has done for centuries. The awesome views from the pristine beach and the gardens of Villa Sepoi Sepoi take in Lombok's towering Mount Rinjani, flanked by rainforest, the tiny port of Bangsal, the three sun-soaked Gili Islands and Bali's Mount Agung in the distance. Villa rates include a car and driver, making it very easy to explore this fascinating island and visit some of the villages that produce the pottery, textiles and basketware that Lombok is famed for.

Villa Sepoi Sepoi is a place to relax and escape the pressures of normal daily life and work. A chance to play with the children in a stunning and safe environment and take long, unhurried walks up and down the beach. It is a fantastic location to completely unwind. For the adventurous, there's the opportunity to climb Mount Rinjani or go scuba diving or snorkelling over the tropical coral reefs surrounding the laid- back Gili Islands; and for golfers, a chance to play a round of golf or two at the stunning 18-hole Kosaido course next door to the villa. 

VILLA LAYOUT

The villa is designed around a central courtyard and then develops westwards through the living pavilion to the infinity pool and beyond to the beach. The garden bedrooms at the eastern side of the courtyard back onto the villa’s own orchard.

The buildings are of a traditional Indonesian style of architecture constructed of high-quality local materials. The villa’s six large bedrooms can comfortably sleep three families with children and maids. Communal areas include a large open-sided living pavilion, dining pavilion, impressive sized kitchen and media room.

LIVING AREAS

The social hub of the villa, the open-sided living pavilion, sits in the middle of the compound and is a striking feature with its white pillars, white Palimanan stone floors and high vaulted alang-alang thatched roof. Three comfortable suede sofas allow guests to unwind cooled by ceiling fans. A pull-down projector screen affords a tropical cinematic experience.

The dining pavilion rests in the corner of the main courtyard with direct access to the villa’s impressive kitchen. This grand, colonnaded pavilion features a stunning 14-seater teak table where guests can enjoy home-cooked dinners prepared by the in-house chef. The large fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances can also be used for cooking demonstrations.

To the rear of the kitchen is the media room, which also doubles as a great kid’s playroom. Featuring a soft comfortable L-shaped sofa, large flat-screen satellite TV, it is the ideal place to curl up with a book or watch a movie. Two ceiling fans keep guests cool.

The 20-metre infinity pool lies between the living pavilion and the beach and is the perfect place for splashing around with the children or swimming lengths. There are numerous sun loungers positioned under the shade of the coconut trees and in the poolside massage balé. A bamboo ‘cabana’ bar rests by the pool – great for an afternoon cocktail.

The gardens are a tropical explosion of colour and lushness. Local flora includes frangipani, bougainvillea, lotus trees and other exotic species. The orchard at the rear of the villa makes a wonderful secret garden for children to hide in and play, while the large lawn leading down the beach is a dream setting for special events and celebrations.

Guests can sit and watch the local fishermen haul in their daily catch from the beachside balé, which is also the perfect spot for a beach barbecue at sunset.

BEDROOMS

All six bedrooms at Villa Sepoi Sepoi have been designed with an individual theme and have either a beautiful sea or garden view. Each room is air-conditioned with ceiling fans and a safe. Mosquito nets are also available.

- The Gold Suite
Villa Sepoi Sepoi’s master suite takes up the entire upper floor of the only two-storey pavilion on the estate and is located on the southern side of the courtyard offering wonderful views of the sea. The suite incorporates a massive bedroom, furnished with a super-king-size four-poster bed and adjoined by a broad balcony. It also boasts a spacious dressing room, an office, a private massage room/yoga studio, and a large ensuite bathroom fitted with twin washbasins, a rain shower and a romantic freestanding bathtub canopied in gold organza.

- The Blue and Red Bedrooms
The Blue and Red rooms are located on the ground floor below the master suite and, as their names suggest, are decorated in blue and red furnishings.

The Blue room, featuring soft colourful fabrics, has two large single beds and two trundle beds which can be rolled out of sight during the day. The Red bedroom has a king-size bed and is decorated with black and red oriental finishings.

- The Yellow and Orange Bedrooms
The Yellow and Orange rooms are on the eastern side of the courtyard. Backing onto the villa’s orchard, these rooms have a tranquil, rustic feel; one can relax on a daybed and watch the birds and butterflies.

The Yellow room has a large king-size bed and the Orange room has the same twin bed arrangement as the Blue room. Both rooms have an ensuite bathrooms and open-air showers.

- The Green Bedroom
The Green room is in a detached pavilion situated in the gardens with beautiful views directly onto the beach. This room features a centrally positioned king-size bed and doors that open onto a garden terrace with sunbeds.

The large ensuite bathroom features a tub, walk-in rain shower, dressing area and private open-air shower.

STAFF

Villa Sepoi Sepoi prides itself on its high level of service. All staff have been professionally trained and are well-qualified in providing exceptional hospitality. Please don’t hesitate to talk to your dedicated villa manager to discuss any specific requirements.

- Villa Manager
Villa Sepoi Sepoi’s experienced manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. His job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay.

- Chef
The villa’s skilled private chef and his assistant will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus.

- Butler
Professionally trained butlers are on hand to attend to guests’ every need, including serving food and beverages at mealtimes, snacks, afternoon tea, cocktails and drinks throughout the day and evening.

- Housekeepers
Two housekeepers look after daily housekeeping and domestic duties.

- Gardeners
Gardeners maintain Villa Sepoi Sepoi’s immaculate gardens and swimming pool.

- Security Guards
On-duty to ensure the safety and security of the guests and the whole area.

DINING

Villa Sepoi Sepoi features a huge restaurant-grade kitchen where the villa’s private chef and his assistant are at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Cooking delicious home-style meals from an extensive suggestion menu, the chef can prepare anything from succulent pork ribs to chicken curry Lombok style. If it’s fresh seafood you desire then place your order and he’ll go shopping at the local fish market. The chef is more than happy to tailor meals according to guests’ special dietary requirements.

Groceries and beverages are charged at market price (plus a 20% handling fee which is subject to service and tax at the prevailing rate). Guests will be requested to provide cash for groceries in advance and the staff will keep receipts for reference. As the villa is a little way from the nearest shops (especially those selling Western food), it’s advisable to plan meals well in advance.

FAMILIES AT SEPOI SEPOI

Among the many advantages that private villas offer for family friendly holidays is having access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Kids will love the wide, open spaces at Villa Sepoi Sepoi, which are just perfect for a game of football or cricket. The 20-metre swimming pool features a special shallow section for the little ones and a range of pool toys.

Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too. The villa’s friendly staff team will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).

Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Banana pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Burgers in the beach balé for lunch? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children’s taste buds.

The villa is well-equipped for children too, with facilities including two baby cots, two highchairs and two car seats.
