We had a wonderful stay at 42, Galle Fort. Very beautiful colonial house, very well maintained. We also had access to the restaurant and swimming pool of the Fort Bazar boutique hotel. All the employees were lovely to us and the level of service is really excellent. Special mentions to Prassa for the maintenance of 42 Lighthouse, and to Sanjeewa for the maintenance and service at the swimming pool: all your little touches and your professionalism made the difference!

The 42 lighthouse street villa is managed together with Fort Bazaar, thus I leave the review at both places.It was a wonderful stay. Per Whatsapp Avi has messaged us prior to arriving and has made us felt welcome, before we have been there. Then from the first second we have arrived. You dive into the old architecture of the city by being welcommed in a stunning room. Ruwan has given us cooling blankets and a welcome drink upon arrival. We have then been shown our room, which was more than beautiful and very spaceous. We had the possibility to ask Avi anything at any time, and we were thankful for it. Once we've left the hotel room to stroll through the citiy, they have prepared our room for our arrival at night, by topping up the water again and making the bed, outstanding! In the morning we had the pleasure of a city walk with a archeologist, who was very very knowledable of the history of the fort. The breakfast we then ate (you choose either at the villa or in Fort Bazaar) was delicious. Afterwards we spent some time at the pool, which has newly opened and is fabulous! Really, if you can go here for a night or maybe even two.There was one really bad thing however, and I think the hotel management must do something against this. It is the tuk tuk mafia waiting outside. As we are travelling without a private driver, we go from place to place with Pickme (Sri Lankan Uber) and chose cars for longer distances. Once our driver arrived two tuk tuk driver jumped up and violated him verbally, threating to injure him or damage his car. How is this accetable? How do you tolerate this scum next to your hotel entrance? This is inacceptable and should be adressed! We didn't book a tuk tuk, so our driver was not even a competition to these tuk tuk drivers...

I stayed 1 night in the 42 Lighthouse Street which is managed by the lovely people of the boutique hotel Fort Bazaar.It was such a pleasant stay from A to Z, the staff is more than welcoming and eager to fulfill any wishes.In the morning we joined a walking tour that was offered by the hotel with an experienced archeologist so we learned a lot about the Galle Fort, its buildings and meanings.We stayed a bit longer and were allowed to use the pool at Fort Bazaar until our driver arrived.I would come back anytime!

We had a wonderfull few nights in this lovely villa. The rooms are full of charm, the staff and service is lovely!The doors are creaking, and do not expect everything to be brand new. But the villa is refurbished in a tastefull way, so these details add to charm rather than being annoying.

"42 Lighthouse Street" is a centrally-located four-room villa in Galle Fort. The ground floor has one room, while the upper floor contains three rooms. The villa features a large and tastefully decorated sitting and dining area. Additionally, there is a small rooftop seating area, that is perfect for relaxing during late evenings.The location is ideal for exploring Galle's old town, as everything is within walking distance. Surrounding streets are home to many restaurants, coffee shops, and tourist shops.The management was kind enough to offer us a room upgrade as we were their only guests staying that night. We had the whole villa to ourselves. The room that we got was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It had all the modern amenities you could ask for.For meals, we could either dine in-house or visit Fort Bazar, another amazing Teardrop hotel located nearby. We chose to have breakfast at Fort Bazar, which was a pleasant experience and brought back memories of our last stay during Christmas 2023.42, which is part of the Teardrop group, provided excellent service as always. Our stay was made perfect by Ruwan, who always served with a smile. The accommodation included a historical tour of Galle Fort, which was very interesting.We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored and decorated property.
