I recently stayed at Villa Murano in Ko Samui, and the standout aspect of the experience was undoubtedly Winnie and her team. They were excellent - attentive, professional, and skilled at striking the perfect balance between being available and allowing privacy.Unfortunately, that is where my praise for Villa Murano ends. Overall, I would not recommend this property for smaller groups. I can understand the appeal for larger groups, where the high cost can be split, but for smaller parties (such as ours), the price is comparable to staying at luxury resorts in Ko Samui that far surpass Villa Murano in terms of facilities, rooms, and amenities.My family and I booked Villa Murano for the final part of our trip, transferring from a luxurious resort, and regrettably, the comparison only highlighted Villa Murano’s shortcomings. One of the main reasons we chose the villa was to enjoy the two large private pools and the generous space. However, upon arrival, we discovered that neither the pools nor the jacuzzi had temperature control measures. We were informed that this is common for villas in Ko Samui, but given Villa Murano’s price point and the fact that it is a relatively new build, this was extremely disappointing - particularly considering how windy and exposed the hillside location is. We suggested potential solutions to the host, but none were feasible, which meant the pools went entirely unused during our stay.Additionally, while Villa Murano is marketed as “luxury”, in my opinion, I found the interiors to be more stylish and aesthetically pleasing than truly luxurious, especially when compared to five-star resorts. Guests accustomed to high-end resort opulence will most definitely notice this difference. The Villa is beautifully designed and offers good views, however it does not meet the level of 'luxury' expected at this price. It’s also worth noting that there is an active construction site nearby, which is visible from each floor.Finally, the hillside location presents logistical challenges. Many taxi drivers were unwilling to drive to the Villa due to the extremely steep access road, and on multiple occasions, drivers refused to pick us up altogether. Even a five-star resort was unable to provide a transfer, citing that their van could not access the property. While the elevation does provide good views, the trade-off is having to walk up a very steep driveway to reach the entrance.In summary, Villa Murano offers an excellent on-site team but other than this, I would not recommend the Villa as I believe there are far better value options in Ko Samui.

We especially appreciated the care taken to cater to our group’s preferences.One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing birthday celebration we hosted at the villa. It was the perfect setting for a memorable party with friends and family – spacious, stylish, and truly luxurious.Thank you to the entire team at Villa Murano for making our time so enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back!

A wonderful week long experience. Expensive, yes, but wow, so worth it. The staff led by their very accommodating supervisor (Winnie), were the best I’ve ever experienced. There was nothing wanting. Breakfasts were awesome and the facilities fitted perfectly with our party of 14. Adults down to a 6 year old. The pools were very clean and great for family time. We had meals in twice cooked by the staff and those meals were delicious too. A large games room and movie room added to the overall enjoyment options. Location was some distance from Fisherman’s Market and 40mins from airport, but the views and privacy made the location even more appealing. Overall, a very memorable experience and one my family will treasure.
