Best place we stayed in all of Sri Lanka. Such a nice boutique villa great ambience super helpful and friendly staff amazing location right in the middle of Galle Fort. Amazing breakfast served at Fort Bazaar, free morning guided city tour offering highly recommend to take advantage.of it even when it means to get up early but Galle Fort in the morning is so quiet. Also can see the sunset from the roof top veranda

42 Lighthouse Street – A hidden gem in Galle FortWe spent one night at 42 Lighthouse Street during our stay in Galle Fort, having moved over from its sister property, Fort Bazaar, to save a little money. In the end, we wished we’d stayed here for at least two nights — perhaps even all four.It’s a gorgeous little boutique hotel: calm, elegant and far more comfortable than the courtyard rooms at Fort Bazaar. The whole place has a peaceful, homely atmosphere that felt like exactly the sanctuary we needed after a few busy days on the road. Considering it’s considerably cheaper, the rooms here genuinely feel like the better option.Breakfast is served at Lighthouse Street itself, brought over each morning from Fort Bazaar’s kitchen — a lovely touch that gives you the best of both worlds. You still have full access to the restaurant and bar at Fort Bazaar, but you get to return to a quieter, more relaxing base afterwards.If you’re heading to Galle Fort and want excellent value, comfort and a real sense of retreat, 42 Lighthouse Street is absolutely worth booking. We only wish we’d stayed longer.

A lovely little hotel / villa with just 4 rooms. The staff are super helpful and the rooms and large and comfortable. You can have breakfast in 42 or at Fort Bazaar, just round the corner. Both breakfasts were lovely. Right in the centre of Galle Fort, this place has easy access to all the sights and restaurants and they do a free guided walk of the city (although it is at 7.00 am which was a bit early for us). Would definitely recommend.

The best hotel (villa) I have ever stayed in. Prasad was a wonderful host and made sure our every need was attended to! The availability of facilities to use at the main hotel was wonderful too, including the guided tour and breakfast. The pool was also beautiful. We didn’t want to leave, but will definitely return again the next time we visit Sri Lanka. Thank you Prasad and Avi and team!

We loved it. Gorgeous property and room. Our favorite hotel during our two-week Sri Lanka holiday. Prasad was fantastic in figuring out solutions when the WiFi wasn’t working and having cold glasses of water waiting for us after our run.Breakfast can be had at the hotel or the sister hotel’s restaurant at Fort Bazaar. The pool at Fort Bazaar can also be used if you are staying at 42 Lighthouse.Great location.
