Beware foreign travelers, should you require any flexibility during your travels, you will not find the management/reservation team here willing to help you. We found ourselves in a conundrum traveling during the presidential election and wished to prioritize our safety over our fun. With the help of booking.com customer service we initiated an arduous back and forth with the Taru Villas reservation team/management. In this conversation the Taru Villas reservation team outright lied stating they never received communication from booking.com, then proceeded to deny our request to waive the fees under the circumstances adamantly sticking to their policy. They wouldn't even agree to a partial refund, they insisted on keeping the full amount of the entire stay. Finally, they ignored both my calls and calls from booking.com customer service attempting to resolve the issue, leaving us with no answers and no help.Ultimately, we managed to get our reservation changed to the Taru Villas Kandy location for the full rate as that at the Galle location, I'm certain there should have been a rate reduction there as it is a difference between a seaside location and a countryside town. I will be fair to the staff and management on site at the Kandy location as they went above and beyond to welcome us and make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.I have stayed at many hotels in Sri Lanka and have traveled in the country since I was a child. I have never come across such arrogance in hotel management in absolutely refusing to consider the safety and well-being of their customers as long as they can make a quick buck. I would think they would at least answer their phones in a feigned attempt to resolve an issue. Sewvandi and management of Taru Villas is devoid of knowledge and skill in the hospitality industry. Inept, deceitful, and rude is the only way I can describe the reservtaion team/management of this place. Please don't let Taru Villas ruin your experience in Sri Lanka. Any other place is capable of providing stellar hospitality and service as easy as breathing. Don't waste your money and your time with your family and friends or by yourself staying here. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful hotel inside Galle Fort. The service provided by the staff is perfect and the breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and spacious, facing the pool. A very relaxing and comfortable stay, totally recommended.
